I started Coop because I realized that the most effective way to improve your day is through good sleep. After suffering from chronic upper back and neck pain, I realized that my pillow was the cause. The existing options on the market were one-size-fits-all, meaning that they actually fit next to no one and left many people feeling tired and sore every morning.
Growing up around my parents’ textile business and eventually leading the company, I immersed myself in textile manufacturing and product development for years. We supplied some of the most well-known retailers, yet they would force us to lower the quality of our products to increase their profits.
I knew that when I started Coop, I would never sacrifice quality for anything. With my experience in the textile industry, I could use the best fabrics to create the most comfortable sleep experience.
From there, my sister Jin and I joined forces to start developing the perfect pillow—one that could adjust to each individual's needs, be safe for allergy sufferers, and provide both support and comfort. Once I tested out the final version and felt my aches go away and my energy level rise, I knew we had created something amazing that we could share with the world. In October 2013, we released the first Coop pillow, and we've been building a collection of bestselling sleep products ever since.
